Flying from Perth for a realism tattoo
Clients fly in from Perth and across Western Australia for full-day realism with Dylan in Port Kembla. Here’s how to plan the trip, from the flight to the drive south.

Flying in
From Perth to Port Kembla.
Fly from Perth Airport into Sydney Airport. The flight east is around four hours and the flight home closer to five. Overnight flights arrive early in the morning, so take a day to recover before your session rather than going straight to the studio. From Sydney Airport it’s about 75 minutes by car to Port Kembla. Without a car, take the airport line to Wolli Creek and change to a South Coast Line train, or arrange a transfer.
Wait until your dates are confirmed and your deposit is paid before you book flights.
Time zone
Plan around the clock.
Western Australia doesn’t use daylight saving. From October to early April, while New South Wales is on daylight saving, Port Kembla is three hours ahead of Perth, and two hours ahead the rest of the year. An early session start can feel like the middle of the night, so arrive at least a day early to adjust.
Planning the trip
A trip that works.
- Day one: fly into Sydney and drive south.
- Day two: a rest day to adjust to the time difference.
- Day three: your session.
- Day four: a second session for large pieces, if Dylan can book it, or fly home.
Because the trip is long, it’s worth planning bigger sessions per visit. Ask about it in your application.
Heading home
Flying with a fresh tattoo.
Flying home after a session is usually fine. Wear loose clothing, keep the tattoo clean and covered as instructed, and avoid long periods pressing on it. Aftercare comes by email, with a check-in after a week and a healed-photo request at around eight weeks.
The flight home is long, so book an aisle seat, get up and move when you can, and keep the tattoo out of the sun from the window.
